Thu. 06 May '10 Hurricane Dog Park, UT, SEPTEMBER SMITH wrote:
"Today was a milestone occasion in Hurricane as we celebrated the city's upcoming inaugural dog park. We were joined at the park site by some of our great volunteers along with Mayor Tom Hirschi, Councilwoman Pam Humphries and Parks Director Darren Barney, and of course some happy canine friends. This allowed all to have a look at what we envision as an asset to residents and dog-loving tourists alike. The grounds are located just above Stout Family Park and will be a great additional green space in the city; though it will take some time to get to the finished plan.

"B.A.M. is currently raising funds and gathering material donations for fencing. As soon as the fencing is installed the park will be open for use! The native landscape will slowly be modified to feature grass in the passive dog area, as well as bench seating and shade trees throughout both the passive and active enclosures.

"Residents have wanted a space like this for a long time and we are just glad to help make it happen. The park is being funded through donations big and small. For information on how to assist with donations of time, money or supplies please contact Rita by email rita@becauseanimalsmatter.com or telephone (435) 635-3832."

The Spectrum newspaper in St. George, UT, ran an online report on Mon. 10 May '10. Please note that the correct mailing address for donations is PO Box 213.
