The PETwhat.com website has been featuring the travels and adventures of one of the BAM adoptables, Onyx. He has had lots of exposure through the BAM website and BAM adoption events, so going to another website with potentially wider coverage was an attempt to find that elusive perfect forever home for him. You can help Onyx find a home by referring anyone you know to the PETwhat pages, or this BAM webpage. Somewhere out there is someone who will be the perfect match for this lovely boy. Do you know someone whose life would be enriched by having Onyx as a companion for adventures and vacations? From the Onyx post bag: Onyx: the dock jumping vacation
The big black dog from Utah is still in need of a home. While his carers worry for him, he is having a whale of a vacation. Down by the Mississippi, with Fort Snelling as a backdrop, he cavorted along the sand with his new friend Sasha. She is foster dog with Midwest Animal Rescue & Service (MARS) in Minneapolis, MN. Click the banner picture to visit the PETwhat webpage for Onyx. There is a gallery viewer if you prefer. Onyx has been based around Hayward Lake, Wisconsin, over the Independence Day weekend. He enjoyed camping, swimming, and even firweworks. He also discovered the delight of chasing the loons on the lake. We just hope he doesn't go too far: although just south of Lake Superior, the Namekagon River passes through Hayward Lake then joins the St. Croix River, which in turn joins the Mississippi River and drains into the Gulf of Mexico. The next report may be from New Orleans, Louisiana. Careful Onyx! Hayward is home to the biggest fish in the world. Email onyx@becauseanimalsmatter.com and your message will be passed along to him. His seasonal goal is to find a new family and a new home before he goes back to Southern Utah at the end of the summer. He wants to hear from friends and well wishers, but especially he wants to hear from anyone who wants to be his forever person. Onyx spent the second day of his travels with two children, Harper and Drew. They will appear in the second installment of Travels with Onyx, which will be available tomorrow. Both kids were upset when Onyx had to leave on the next leg of his journey. Harper said to her mommy, "I thought we got to keep Onyx." When her mommy told her that Onyx had to leave with AJ and Andrea she started to cry and wailed, "But I love Onyx!" Harper and Drew were both sad to see Onyx go. They liked him "best of all", and because the pronunciation of the 'x' was tough for little Drew, he called Onyx, "Onick". |
