UPDATE Wed. 24 Feb. '10: Andrea writes, "I went to Ogden yesterday to see Teddy Bear. He barked like crazy at my car when I pulled up to his yard. A very puzzled look crossed his face when I asked him, 'Are you barking at me?' He cocked his head from side to side, sniffed my hand, and then started wagging his body excitedly. When he figured out who I was, he jumped up and wrapped his paws around my neck.
"Bear has gained a little weight, looks happy, healthy and BIG (fit). He has become very obedient to his humans, Virgil & Cindy, and even enjoys his older brother Roscoe. Virgil said that Bear has been quite a challenge, but he is a character, and pleasant to have around the house."
UPDATE Sat. 09 Jan. '10: Bear has learned how to shake hands. He is still a little stubborn if he gets out of the yard or goes after something, when he is slow to obey commands, but he is learning. He is also better with Cindy. Virgil was working on something in the garage, and he felt like he was being watched. He turned around and Bear was balanced on his hind legs looking over Virgil's shoulder to see the work in progress. Virgil said was the funniest thing he had ever seen, so perhaps Bear should have his own bib & brace coveralls!
Andrea writes: "After bouncing from home to home, spending 3 months in a Utah shelter and four months in foster care, Teddy Bear has finally found his forever family. After such a short time fostering Bear, it is easy to see why a person would fall in love with him at first sight. As Bear rode away in the vehicle with his new owner it was hard not to cry tears of sadness and tears of joy. Though he was the most difficult and challenging dog I have had in foster care over the last four years, he will be the one that stays with me in my heart forever."
Virgil (Teddy Bear's adopter) writes: "Cindy and I want to thank you again for your time and help with our adopting Bear. He is a fine dog. Thank you and B.A.M. so much. I wish more people had the heart you and B.A.M. show these lost and unwanted pets, so they have a chance for a good life with folks that love their pets.
"I bet folks that know Bear are curious how he steeled in with his new family? So far it's a happy tail [grin] Today Bear found out the snow blower is fun to bite at the snow shooting from the outlet. I have to keep telling him to stay back — I worry he might slip and get caught in the blower. He bites at the snow on the shovel, too, and he barks and does a puppy run around the yard in the snow. He cracks me up.
"Take care, and thanks."
