"First of all, a heartfelt thank you to H.A.R.T. who invited us to join them today at PERKS in St. George. The weather was beautiful and the location great. In addition, two stores offered discounts to anyone who adopted. The adoption results were fantastic. H.A.R.T. had five dogs adopted (when we had to leave; they were still there) and Pete was adopted from B.A.M.

"Other interesting news is that Elmer is being fostered right now (for possible adoption) by the owners of PERKS. One lady came forward and said she would like to foster Zoe if need be, and another stepped up to do respite for Sage and Tim."

"All in all, an excellent day."

UPDATE Sun. 07 Mar. '10: Yesterday Elmer was taken into foster care by a fine couple, but they decided that Elmer needed more one-on-one than they could give him. However, another potential adopter had also stepped up yesterday and said he wanted to adopt Elmer if it did not work on his trial placement.

AJ & Andrea are picking up Elmer today, and if everything goes well, he will go on another trial placement later in the week.

More good news: a couple met Zoe yesterday, but did not know anything about the whippet/greyhound breeds. They went home and did some research, then wrote to say they would like to adopt Zoe when they return from their trip. Arrangements are being made with the foster parents to care for Zoe until the couple return.
